Terms of Service
Effective Mon, Oct 12, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Shrimmage (“we”, “us”) covering your use of Shrimmage (the “Service”). By creating an account, signing up for a league or tournament, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information.
1. Who Can Use the Service
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. Setting up an account asks for your birthday; a birthday under 13 is refused with a message saying so, isn't stored, and the account can't be set up. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these terms on your behalf, and they are responsible for your use of the Service, including any payments. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we may close it and delete its information.
2. Your Account
Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider, Clerk. Keep your sign-in details to yourself — you are responsible for what happens under your account. Give us accurate information, and keep it up to date in Account Settings. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account.
3. Players, Captains, Organizers and Commissioners
The Service is a tool for running cornhole leagues and tournaments. Leagues and tournaments are run by organizers (the clubs that create them) and the commissioners and captains they appoint — not by us. Organizers set their own rules, schedules, entry fees, dues and refund decisions, and they are responsible for them and for the events themselves, including the venue. Any dispute about a league's rules, results or conduct is between you and its organizer.
If you invite someone by email — a teammate, a co-owner, a commissioner — you confirm that you know them and that they would expect to hear from you. Don't use invitations or messages to contact people who haven't asked to be contacted.
4. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. When you pay an entry fee, dues, a substitute fee or a tournament entry through the Service, you pay us, and we pass the organizer's share to the organizer through Stripe. We may keep a platform fee. Depending on how the Service is set up, it either comes out of the organizer's share or is added to the price you pay — and when it's added, it's included in the amount you're charged, including charges to a saved card. Organizers who accept payments also agree to Stripe's Connected Account Agreement. We never see or store your full card number — Stripe does.
Saved cards. You can keep one card on file with Stripe; you're offered this when you join a league's substitute pool where subs pay each time they play. It becomes the card on file for your whole account, not for one league. By saving it, you authorize us to charge it through Stripe, without asking you again each time, whenever a league you play in charges as you play:
- when you accept a booking as a substitute, that league's per-appearance fee at that moment;
- when you're checked in to a league that collects weekly dues at check-in — including the automatic check-in when you play a scored game — the dues you then owe that league, which can cover more than one week at its current weekly rate;
- if you captain a team in a league that charges dues per team, the team's dues, the same way.
This lasts until you ask us to remove the card — email [email protected], or use Manage billing in Account Settings where it appears. If a charge fails, you may still owe the organizer that amount.
Refunds. Refunds are the organizer's decision. If an organizer removes you, your team or your tournament entry after you have paid, takes you out of a league's or tournament's free-agent, sign-up or substitute pool, or cancels a substitute booking you paid for, the Service lets them refund all, part or none of what you paid. We keep our platform fee either way; the organizer decides whether your refund includes an amount equal to any fee you paid, which the club then covers. Once you have paid to be in a league or tournament, only its organizer can take you out of it, so if you want to leave, ask them. A league or tournament that has taken payments can't be deleted, so its payment records are always kept. For anything else — dues you paid by mistake, say — ask the organizer, and if they agree to a refund, contact us at [email protected] so we can make it. If a paid sign-up can't be completed — the league filled up while you were paying, say — the whole payment is refunded automatically. Nothing here limits any right to a refund you have under the law, or through your card issuer.
5. Subscriptions
Some features are part of paid plans, such as the Advanced and Ultra stats tiers. A plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. You can cancel any time with Manage billing in Account Settings, or by emailing [email protected]; you keep the plan until the end of the period you've paid for, and we don't refund partial periods unless the law requires it. We'll tell you before a price change applies to you. Deleting your account does not cancel a plan — cancel it first.
6. What You Put on the Service
You keep ownership of what you add — team names, nicknames, scoreboard images, sponsor logos and links, messages. You give us permission to store, display and share it as needed to run the Service, including on public pages where the Service shows it (see below). Only add things you have the right to use, and nothing unlawful, hateful, harassing or sexually explicit. We may remove anything that breaks these terms.
7. What the Service Shows Publicly
Results are public by design. Anyone, signed in or not, can see league and tournament pages (team names, standings, scores and brackets, including — while the league or tournament is in progress — who played each match, in a bracket or in the regular season (or, before a lineup is named, who is on each team's roster), and their statistics for it; once it has finished, those match statistics are available according to your plan) and the Global Stats pages, which list players who have played by name — or by nickname, if you set one — with their statistics. Anyone with an account can see more, such as team rosters and which leagues a player has played in. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is shown, and to whom.
8. Acceptable Use
Don't:
- send spam, or use invitations or messages to reach people who haven't asked;
- scrape or bulk-download the Service, or try to get around its limits, security or access controls;
- create accounts automatically, or impersonate anyone;
- enter scores or results you know are false;
- interfere with the Service or anyone else's use of it.
9. Scorekeeper Tablets
An organizer may pair a tablet to a board so it can keep score without anybody signing in. The organizer is responsible for the tablets they pair, and for unpairing any they no longer control.
10. Other Services
The Service relies on other companies — Stripe for payments and Clerk for sign-in, among others — and links to sites we don't control, such as sponsors' websites. Their own terms apply to what you do there, and we aren't responsible for them.
11. Ending Your Account
You can delete your account at any time from the account menu (Manage account). Deleting it doesn't cancel a paid plan or remove a card you've saved — cancel the plan and ask us to remove the card first (sections 4 and 5). We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the Service or other people at risk. What happens to your information when an account is deleted is in the Privacy Policy. Sections 4, 6, 12, 13 and 14 still apply after your account ends.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that standings, statistics or schedules will be accurate. Cornhole is a physical activity; you take part in events at your own risk, and we don't run, supervise or insure them.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (not counting amounts passed on to organizers) and $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
14. Indemnity
If someone makes a claim against us because of what you added to the Service, how you used it, or an event you organized, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, to the extent the law allows.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located there, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it somewhere else.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll give notice in the Service or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
